timing chain tensioner gone bad already?

OK so I jump into my car today to take a cruise, I fire up the engine, and I hear the distinct rattle of the chain against the guides. The problem with this is that I just changed the chain, tensioner, sprockets, and seals at the end of January! Can the tensioner really have worn out that quickly? This really sucks.... the last thing I want right now is to rip that front cover off again. Maybe I'll just have to sell the car:eek: no, I couldn't bring myself to do that
