New guy here, and need some help. We have a `91 240SX with a noisey timing chain and leaking front seal. We are thinking about changing the chains and tensioners ourselves. and have done some searches but haven't found a complete set of instructions for this, just some bits and pieces. and of course the writeup for the single cam Has anyone changed the timing chains for the dual cam, and have a write-up?

Thanks, - ZilverX

The DOHC motors don't typically have the same timing chain noise as the SOHC. The noise may be created in your upper timing chain guide. This is easily accessible by removing the valve cover. The upper guide is not needed according to Nissan.

Thanks C-Kwik, Is the upper guide accessible by removing the upper front cover, or does the valve cover and anything else have to come off? All we have to do is unbolt it? What about any side tensioners. Sorry, I don't have a decent manual to refer to ,so I'm kind of in the dark about what to look for once I'm in there.

you can get to it easily by just taking off the valve cover and its 2 10mm bolts holding the guide on.
