Ok guys here's the deal. I followed the steps on how to remove the timing chain guides, but figured i didn't need to put it in TDC because i don't have the 26 mm socket.I also skiped the part where it was like mark this and that, so i marked the distributor timing so it would be in the correct degree when i put it back in, but i didn't mark the rotor. I then pulled out the distributor and carried on. Everything went fine afterwords, but when i put everything back together the car would not start. What should i do?

Place #1 Cyl. in TDC by turning crankshaft until piston is moving up on the compression stroke. (Place thumb over spark plug hole to feel when compression stops.) Stop turning when timing marks indicate TDC or 0.

Install the distributor so the rotor, which is mounted on the shaft, points towards No. 1 spark plug terminal tower position when the cap is installed. Since you won't be able to see the way the rotor is pointed when the cap is on, lay the cap on the top of the distributor and make a mark on the side of the distributor housing just below the #1 spark plug terminal plug terminal. Make sure the rotor points toward that mark when you install the distributor.

Check all the wires again, make sure everything is plugged in.

I remember I forgot to connect my distributor and all it did was crank but not fire.

Yeah Djinfinit, give us a bit more info there. :-) Did you check the valves to see if they were bent? You can check real fast by removing the cover and using a feeler gauge inserted under the rocker cap where the top of the valve stem is. DISCONNECT THE BATTERY, then take a 28 mm open end wrench attached to the cam sprocket and turn the cam. You will see the lifters go through their cycle. When they are each in the top most position, stop and insert the feeler gauge. If you can get that gauge in there, then the valve stem may be bent. The back valves are the intakes, and the front four are the exhaust I believe -- not that it matters much. The point is the valve clearance should be zero or close to zero.

If you know that the valves are good, let us know. Otherwise, yes -- I agree, check all connections, and check to make sure you have good gas.

Your timing is most likely still off. When you put the dizzy back the gear has a detancy to shift off by one gear notch. watch it as you install it from the top with the valve cover off. You'll see what I am saying. You may want to get a timing gun to make sure it's all 100%.

I did the same thing, and the car seemed like it would want to fire or start but then nothing.

If that's not it, check all your wires and maybe something else is wrong.
