Greetings once more everyone.

I have a 96 se, with 146k on it. Aside from having a problem with my MAF Connector, things seem to be going well. I do however have a few questions related to the timing chain on this vehicle. I have not had the timing chain changed, and everything that I have read indicates that there is not a need to do it "Durring the life of the vehicle". Should I replace the timing chain with this many miles on it? I can hear (what I believe is a guide) rattling around up top. Can that guide bust and cause problems? Also from what I understand, Nissan no longer requires you to replace this or another guide when you change the timing chain, is this true? If so, can I just remove the guide? Much thanks in advance!

pull the valve cover and look at the timing chain in the front. you will prob see a guide with two bolts holding it on. remove the guide if its still there. i have seen them just broken many times.
