Ok, here's my dilima. I have a `95 240sx with the ka24de. I have a spark plug with the head stripped off of it (I don't know how this happened I just bought the car.) I'm removing the head to get to the spark plug. My chilton guide says I can romove the head with out taking the timing chain all the way off but it does not tell me how to do it, it just says leave the chain on the lower sprocket. I can take the cam sprockets off but there is another sprocket right below(inches below) the two cam sprockets and it looks like the chain would catch on that when I try to lift the head off. Is this right? Am I missing something? any help would be appreciated

on the de's there's an upper timing chain, you can take that one off, the lower one is the one with the other sprocket that's hooking them up together. Not exactly sure if that sprocket bolts to the head or to the block but it shouldn't be too hard to have a look when loking down the valve cover.

the head is take off like this! 1. set the piston to TDC2. make sure the cam lobes are facing East intak, west exausht3. the notch on the front pull in on the second on from the top4.you do not have to take off the in take or exausht manifoldjust take off every thing that connect to it .5. take off the uppe timming cover & valve cover.6.remove the upper timiming chane and the bolt from the ideler pully.then remove the cams by taking out the cam bolts7. then remove thenb head bolts

THE head should lift right offps do not forget the 10 that are at the side of the head Exausht sideif you have any prob e-mail me
