i have a 89 240sx with 114k miles. I've been hearing so many clicking type sound. i assume its the timing chain. here's a clip http://users.cwnet.com/dvdevo/silence.mp3 this was supose to be to show the sound of my exhaust for someone but yeah, the rattling is noticeable. What could this be? Arg i wonder how much would this fixing cost. Ahh so much for a engine i'm plannin on swaping out in a year. *reason why i got my 3" exhaust*

its a problem with the lower timing chain guides on the early sohcs it i remember correctly, different from the guide problem on the dohcs, basically if i want to fix it, ud take off the front of the engine and replace the set of guides and ususally replace the chain while ur at it. buuuut if u say the engine is comin out nehow that may be a waste to u, and u could just see how long it lasts....

No doubt!!!Timing chain rattle. The same sound i had before i change the guides, sprocket and chain.(330$CDN)Nissan dealer told me it will took 8 hour to make the job.I done it alone with my brother and it took 13 hours with no lift and compressor.Nissan sold all the kit or separetly, but i suggest you to change everything.

Don't forget to order 2 oil seals who going to go in the back of the front plate. The first time we finish everything we forgot the oil seals and oil was pissing all around like rain!

Good luck men!

so it would timing chain replacement kit? Well its probably not likely for me to do it considering the fact that i've only installed my own exhaust, and changed the injectors. It's probably easy huh? Just gotta remember to put everything back into place.
