Timing Chain or Belt?

What are in 99 & 00 QX4's? I found the service manuals here on the website for 97, 98, & 01, and 98 seems to have a chain, whereas 97 & 01 have belts. Wondering about 99 & 00.

For the 99' 00' QX4 they have timing belts. 2001 was when the engine was changed to the 3.5L with the timing chain

Cool, thanks. Looks like the Pathfinders and Xterras did the same. Gotta love the chain as opposed to the belt!

Yea, I have to tackle the timing belt job next summer, can't wait .

Gonna buy the parts over the winter.
