So what do you think it is ?

There is also some wind noise in there, it's only the ticking that is coming from the car.

When you buy a used [JDM or US junkyard] engine the purchase price is miniscule compared to the rehabilitation labor and parts [valve cover reseal. spark plugs, front and rear mainseal, all new knock sensors + harness, under plenum hoses and 8 new injectors to defer failures from non standard fuels.

I would think a proper 94-96 engine swap would be $3,100 without new fuel injectors and $5,000 with new injectors.

Then read the posts on how to select and JDM take out. That's your best bet to swap everything over.

So sorry for your situation.

I might be buying another car.

Also may be parting out this one...

But I'm still getting another G50 so don't worry

I have to weigh my options and I'll go from there

When I first got my 1994 Q, it had a very mild HLA tick due to deferred maintenance from the previous owner. Through short interval synthetic oil changes the past year, it's totally gone now. It would only slightly tick at idle and once revved over even 900rpm, it was gone. Your noise is something totally different. Unless a valve is stuck WAY open, that is too loud and the range of noise is way too broad to be an HLA tick. I suggest driving it until it died or you can get a replacement JDM takeout. Sorry about the hydrolock. Boris
