First off my vh is a 95 with vtc. Before installing in my s13 I completely freshened up the motor rings, bearings, timing chain set. The timing kit was a aftermarket kit off eBay (not sure if I should've cheated out?) Well any way the car starts right up and runs great other than a noise coming from the passenger side chain. I've tore the head front cover off several times, checking cam timing, replaced the vtc cam and gear thinking the spring could've been broke, tried another aftermarket timing chain tensioner, made sure oil came out of the feed hole going to the tensioner, I'm pretty much running out of options of what it could be. ANY INPUT on this would be greatly appreciated. Is there supposed to be a gasket behind the passenger side tensioner like the driver side or no? Should I try a factory nissan tensioner?
