This is on my 93 240sx what the ka24de. I started the car to go to work and every thing was fine. Drove fine to work, when i parked the car I heard a noise like somthing was tapping somthing in the engine bay. So I said ill look at it when i get out of work. I got out of work and started the car and I heard nothing then about 15 seconds later I hear it again. I open the hood and it sounds like the timing chain is hitting the valve cover its kinda of loud but when driving you cant hear it at all. So what should I do is there a tensioner on it that I can adjust or am I looking at buying a new timing kit. I have a spear ka24de can I take the tension off of that one?

Hmmm... This has never happened before.

Take the valve cover off and remove the upper guide...

So just take off the upper guide and toss it and put it back togather or buy a new guide?

Just search for timing chain guide. And then look through the hordes of people who have the exact same problem.

You need to go to Nissan and demand a new guide. Don't leave until you get one.

If you go through with this plan, better be prepared to pay rent - you'll be there for a while.
