How much should I expect to pay for a timing chain job? I have all the OEM parts to do the job, but I dont know if I actually want to try it out or not. The most Ive ever done is a water pump.

Like I said, I'll supply all the parts, its just paying for labor.

How much should I expect to pay?

(I went to my "mechanic" and he said for me, it would be $250)

EDIT: SOHC

$250 is a good price... most charge around $600 with parts+labor

$250 is probably the best deal i've ever heard on replacing a timing chain.

Well the timing chain job on the SOHC is pretty easy to do, which is probably why the mechanic is only charging 250. That is however, a very good price for the hassle. Now 250 for a dohc chain job...oh man that'd be dreaming.
