just had the timing chain and all related components replaced recently. but sometimes when I blip the throttle to match revs when I downshift going into a turn, I get a little bit of chain rattle. is this normal?

wassup...I haven't heard of a chain rattling when turning...that doesn't seem to fit the physics of internal combustion engines...Anyway I have been up all nite trying to help one person and you may be it..I just replaced my timing chain and everything assoc. with it... 7500 miles later had to replace the top chain and tensioner due to bad parts from http://www.thepartsbin.com don't get anything from them 21 days warranty on uninstalled componets no refunds jerks...OK I wouldn't take anychances until you know it's tight. A loss chain can lead to trouble.. you have to go by sound it will grind/rattle more at a constant rpm so set in your driveway LET IT WARM UP the dealership mech said that sometimes tensioners don't give until under heat...So just listen to it you'll hear trust me. Use a broom stick to place on the end of the valve cover and place your ear on the other believe it or not it sound travel down it and you'll be able to tell better if indeed there is a lose chain... Hope this helps if it is lose don't drive it if it gets to lose it will do alot of damage just ask my brother....hehe :rolleyes

the after market tensioners dont work for ****. it will be best if you get an oem part from your dealership. trust me everyone that i know who works on nissans including my self and my father and what not have had problems with them. if its a little more expensive it will be ssoooo worth it in the long run.
