So i started to reassemble the head and got everything setup but the damn timing chain gave me issues. I started to line everything up and then when i started to rotate the motor clockwise from the crank pulley the damn timing sproket ended up skipping a tooth due to my chain having slack in it. Any idea what would cause this?

I have a new timing chain kit that i'm gonna install tomorrow. What do i have to do to get this thing to tighten up and not slip?

I'll keep you posted on my progress tomorrow but i think that the crank pulley sproket is busted.

Also how the hell do i get the crank pulley off?

now this all came about do to the former head having issues with the valves touching the pistons. I read something earlier about chains stretching due to failure. I suppose this is my issue with the chain currently. So again i'm replacing the chain tomorrrow.

So I replaced the timing chain components. What I found as a discrepancy was the crank timing sproket was installed backwards. As I spun the crank you could see and feel play with the sproket and chain. Replaced those items and the chain and she's all gravy. For anyone doing this plz remember to use a 2 or 3 jaw pulley puller.
