I dont have alot of money but I need to get it done. Im putting a new motor in my 1990 Q and I need to get the guides replaced before I put it in. Does anyone know an inexpensive way to get this kit? ~Eric

Here's one of tangalora's incredible posts on the procedure, along with a complete parts list:

You might consider posting in the Infiniti Parts forum. I know of at least one poster who ordered a kit and never put it in:

There's really no aftermarket source for these parts, so you're best getting them at a discount through Joe at 1-888-216-5328. Ask for him - he knows what's needed. And if you haven't already, read everything on this site about Chain Guides:

You have to spend the money on the parts if you want your next engine to last.

It's either that, or don't bother.... sorry.

I had to pay around AU$600 for the parts, shipped, but it was either that... or just wait for my engine to die.

When it comes to chain guides, there is no skimping on cash to get the job done right.

Just think of the $$ and time you're saving by doing this while the engine is out of the car!

It's not just the guides, it's the underplenum hoses, KS and harness, cleaning the plenum and EGR and IAC valves, throttle body, etc. All things that are so much more expensive and time consumming once the engine is installed.

I would definitely do the chain guides, reseal valve covers, front and rear main seals, and O2 sensors. And what maxnix suggested.
