My Q45 has a rattle in the engine... Timing chain guides? It rattles at startup after sitting for a little while and rattles at about 3500 revs... Should I stop driving it immediately and drive my other car while I order parts in (Ex USA)? Also can I just replace the guides as shown on Q45.org or do I have to replace the chains as well?I don't want to end up paying alot more for parts to fix the heads etc just because I ignored a rattle which is concerning my greatly due to the failure rate of the guides.Another thing, where am I to buy the guides, they sell them on eBay as a chain and guide kit... But, as we all know, it is eBay...Screaming for help in the land down under!

replace chain and guides together, it is a very big job. I would recommend bringing it to a qualified technician. Unless you have several days and a good book to show yuou how its done.

Once I have all the info I'll be able to do it. I'm a diesel mechanic by trade but I've worked on cars so I'll be able to do it.

Someone said in another post about a 'Joe' bloke doing a parts kit for these? Does anyone know what is in the kit? I.E does it come with front cover seal etc?
