I have a picture of the Timing Chain Guide for the KA24DE engine. It is attached on top of the timing chain and is attached by two 12 mm bolts. Hope this helps.

That's only one of them, and generally the one that rattles the least. Go back and get the other one out please.

The second one is nearly identical, but attached with 10mm bolts. It's located behind the upper timing cover, right beside the distributor inlet. Pull the distributor, and then take out the six 12mm bolts and three 10mm bolts, one is hidden underneath the distributor area, that secure the cover and remove it. Be sure to seal it back up good when you're done.

R240NA,

When you say "seal it up good" what exactly do you mean? Using some sort of sealant?? I need to remove my timing chain guides on my KA24DE as well. Thanks, Jason.

use high temperature silicone. and don't be stingy with it.

Ya, what he said. Let it goop out if you need to, after it dries you can trim the excess off easily with a knife. You don't want to have to pull it again to fix a leak.
