Hello, I own a 1993 240-se, 5 sp with 140K miles. I had the timing chain chain problem fixed, ( the tapping on the top of the engine). After this, the big problems started, the car keep burning the computer. I go driving and suddenly it will just die....

The changed the computer 3 times.... it have been a week now since it went to the shop... they called today and said, the aftermarket alarm systems is burging the computer...

does this make sense? I had never used the alarm system.. it was there when ai got the car..thanks for any help...

yep possible. have seen aftermarket devices cause all kinds of problems especially alarms. depending on their functions it could access ingnition system, start system or any other computer controlled circuits. the system could of developed a short in what was remaining of its circuitry. after market systems are never installed as good as the cars factory harnesses are.
