Timing chain going bad possibly?What do you think??

just did a search but couldnt realy find what i was looking for exactly....

the last couple weeks my car has been squeaking, like when its sitting still idleing, its like a kindof low squeaking noise most of the times, but sometimes it real loud and annoyin.. but anyways, tonight i had my car parked idleing and one of my friends looked under my hood and listened to it and said that it sounded like my timing chain was grinding, something about the springs or sum shizz like that. so from what i described does it sound like its the timingchain, when im sitting still idleing it'll do it until i push on the gas and rev it up a little then it'll stop for about 10 seconds or so then start back up again squeaking...please help im gettin ready to sell my car and it doesnt look(sound actualy) good when people are lookin at my car and it squeakin and shiat, know what im sayin...well, thanks in advance:help

Loose belt or possibly bad tensioner pulley. Tighten the belts up.

Never heard of a Squeaky timing chain.. I heard it rattle before..But squeaks usualy mean a belt.

I doubt its your timing chain. I just replaced mine and talk about a headache. My chain was tapping inside the engine, you could feel it when you put your hand on the engine and my wife could hear it as I pulled up to the house. Didnt squeek Just tapped and banged very loud. Check your belts like antjaw said. It could also be your water pump I know they squeek when they go bad.
