My brother gave me a 240sx hard top 1991, timing chain is broken and idler sprocket, I have a new chain and sprocket, Do I have to worry about valves or pistons being crushed. and is there a easy way to Time the car?

If the chain is broken, then yes, there most likely is piston and/or valve damage. Best idea is just to check for yourself though.

if the timing jumped you may have bent valves. try doing a compression test and a vacuum test.
