timing belt troubleshoot

i have a 95 pathfinder that i am having troubles with regarding the timing belt. when i line up the marks on the belt with the marks on the cam gears and crank gear, i rotate the belt for three revolutions and the belt marks are always one tooth off, any thoughts ,ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I am very sorry for the delay, I somehow completely missed your post.

That is actually correct. Once you line the belt up with the marks on the sprockets themselves it is in time. Once you spin the engine the belt won't line up correctly for a certain number of turns but is still in time.
