How do you know when you have enough tension or too much tension on the timing belt? I've had the car started and ilding for awhile with no problems so I'm guessing its good, I'm just curious is all.

If you replaced the spring in the tensioner, then when you loosen up the bolt after you put the new belt on, then the tension should be correct. Just tighten the bolt back up.
