My machinist had a good idea about how to put on the timing belt. I thought I'd share:

I also got some spray paint overspray on the timing belt. I don't think it matters, but the last time my timing belt failed I had to get another engine so I thought I would ask. Better safe than sorry...

Thoughts?

Thanks,

Nice. why not just use the factory timing marks tho? the paint wont hurt it tho. itll just wear off in the 1st 5 min of run time

If your talking about the wood and bolt you can actually buy a tool that does the same thing;

i have one but I usually just line up the factory marks. when i worked for big10 tires we had cheap people that would wait on a timing service till it was too late. then ur expensive snap on cam lock is useless. u get to find all ur timing marks... usually burried under the oil leaks and no all data pro lol.
