hi everyone! I just bought a 94 j about 5 months ago and it has 135k miles on it. I don't think it ever had its timing belt change. when do you know it needs one...is it time do to change due to the mileage? also, how much $ i'm looking at for this job?

94's had a kevlar belt that's good for 105K Miles.Look under the front edge of the hood and see if there's a small metal plate saying it was changed and what mileage. If its not there you need to get it done soon as this engine is toast if it breaks.I did my own to save on labor cost. Not sure what a garage would charge. Here's the How too I used .zerothread?id=198122

If you plan on keeping the car for awhile, get the OEM Nissan Kevlar. Its isn't that much more.
