hey guys i just put a new timing belt on my Z and the exhaust and the intake cam on the passenger side slipped a tooth and hit the top of the piston. :ohno: would you be able to tell/hear if the valves are broken or not if you turned the motor? my engine is pulled and i rotated it with a socket and ratchet and its perfectly timed. any input would be appreciated!

Did it skip a tooth while running? Or just by turning it by hand?

Usually when this happens the valves end up getting bent so it's odd that yours didn't. There can also be damage to the pistons which you wouldn't be able to tell unless you were physically looking at them.

well thats what i want to make sure didnt happen and when i put the timing belt on i cant get the marks on the belt to line back up on the cam gear marks, is the belt skipping teeth? and the cam gear marks and the crank mark are still where they should be.
