Hi, Does anyone know what kind of timing belt the 09 Rogue has ? ie Is it rubber belt or chain type ? Also is the engine an interference engine like if the timing belt breaks the valves and pistons will hit and damage the engine.

I believe it's running on a chain. From what I have heard, all Nissan's have been running on chains

It's a timing chain designed to last the life of the engine. It doesn't require any service. The engine is an interference type, but you never need to be concerned about a broken timing chain... it should never happen.

The last Nissan engines to have a timing belt was the VG33E and KA24DE used in the 2004 Xterra and Frontier. Those engines were finally discontinued in North America with the introduction of the 2nd gen Xterra and Frontier in 2005.
