So I have been experiencing this slight hesitation when I accelerate and deided to do something about it finally. I checked the timing via FSM and adjusted it but it will stay at 15 degrees for a couple of seconds then jump past to around 40? It's like the damn thing is fighting me. I followed the procedure exactly.

Anyway I figured that swapping out the coolant sensor and knock sensor couldn't hurt but the coolant sensor seems to be rounded off so I can't get it out. The only thing that seems to even fit past the connector part is a 19mm deep socket with a swivel but it doesn't want to grab.

Further more, is the knock sensor located next to the oil filter? That is the only thing I see under the intake manfold and attached to the block. Looks like a white knob with a connector attached to a plug? Please help. I'll give you a dollar:D

the sensor next to the oil filter should be the oil pressure sending unit. The knock sensor is on the same side of the block and positioned further back.

Vice grips will be your best friend in getting the old temp switch off. If you can get them in there, that is.

As for the timing issue, check your ECU and see if it's throwing any codes first. The ECU usually has a reason for retarding the ignition.
