Trying to check my timing just to sort out some little driveability issues. I unhooked the tps and I know at 650rpms it should be at 15 degrees. Every mark on the crank pulley is 5 degrees right? Is the 1st one zero then right? Also I have 7 notches on the pulley. Is that right? My turbo to manifold gasket is leaking and had to gap the plugs way way low due to blow out ( gotta love these coils) but thinking those issues are causing the engine top loose noticeable power above 5g. Aso had the cas off to check timing belt. Have it centered in the slots.

Yes, the first notch is 0 so you need to time it on the 3rd notch on the crank pulley for 15*. If the idle surges, try plugging the TPS back in. I could never time mine without the TPS unplugged. It would surge up and down.

A leaky exhaust gasket will also cause issues with idle because it will be drawing air into the exhaust stream and causing the O2 sensor to read a lean condition.

Can't get it to idle down that low. Guess I need to find the ecm to adjust the dial. So I read

Check the idle control valve. The screw should be set all the way in and backed out 1/4 turn.
