So I re-did the o-rings on my injectors, found out that my injectors are leaking really bad, so I need some new ones.

My buddy pointed out that my timing is advanced all the way to compensate for the slack in my timing chain. DAM!!

So it turns out that the car I bought, did not have the chains done, DAM LYING OWNER. So now I am looking to re-building the SOHC. I like the simplicty of the motor, so I am probably gonna keep it.

I am looking to go turbo in the future, so I am wondering if I should do a complete overhaul right now, or even go to a DOHC.

I was thinking of doing the chains, and sending the head out to get checked. Maybe even get a new head.

So should I re-build this SOHC, get another SOHC, or go DOHC?

i would keep and rebuild the sohc. 240's have a recall on the timing chain glides so no matter what your going to have to redo the glides and the chain and if you let the chain have to much slack for to long it will end uo putting a hole in the water pump channel and then you have to get the timing chain cover replaced of get it welded together adn all that. the sohc ka is a strong motor in my opinion and you can get good power out of it.

I like the simplicity of it, I agree its a awesome motor. I am just getting money together to do a rebuild. What do you recommend?

I am doing the following:

chains & guideswater pumpoil pimpsend the head out to get checkednew gaskets (head, valve cover etc)

Is there anyway to inspect the bearings?
