this is my first attempt to post a picture into a forum. this image is my 720 z24 distributor. I am trying to demonstrate that there is no further adjustment possible. I am wondering if the distributor can be repositioned so that it can be rotated a few more degrees clockwise.

You might want to wear gloves, the engine is still pretty dirty.

Is it just not running right even though it is so advanced? My initial guess is that it is 180 degrees off... Just need some more info.

On my old FORD car, I know that it's possible to have the distributor one tooth off when installed. That will make it nearly impossible to set the timing correctly when it's one tooth off. Could be plus or minus.
If you want more help here, please give us more info, such as:
1. What is the timing set at now when you check it with a timing light?
2. Have you checked each plug to see if the color is correct?
3. Have you checked compression?
4. Is the distributor cap in good condition?
5. What condition are your spark plug wires in ?
We'll try to help if we can get more info.
