man, alot has changed since i last updated here. let me bring you guys up to speed :chuckle:

i went to the track and blew it up by the end of summer last year

Image

still had some fun tho

update time! spring was fun, summer i learned alot and now winter is here. Ugly Betty evolved into Ashy Larry, and now it's time to grow again.

Ashy Larry now trancends into AL-2: Electric Boogaloo. 7LBS (like the movie) is now in the cacoon and over the winter will get 95% of Ashy's awesomeness. the extra 5% will consist of pure unadulterated raunchyness. here's the initial stage of 7LBS and a few peices of inspiration that make up the 5%. enjoy

the original Ashy Larry will turn into a KA-T missle for all local cool guys to bash. you'll find it at Sundance Speedway cuttin a rug and what-not. i just came back from tokyo last week so now i can start the raunchyness. first thing getting ordered is CF doors

and finally an update...

nothing has changed yet. gotta pay off a couple important things before i start gettin saucy. eta of 3 weeks!

Image

so i came back from tokyo and i got this in DSport issue #102 hehe.

Image

and the official rebuild starts lol. just ordered a bunch of stuff so the ride begins once again.

Well thats done. Went .020 over with 87mm CP's and manley rods 9:1, cometic hg, 72lb msd injectors on a jwt top feed rail, ati pulley, knife edged and balanced crank and rotating assembly, block has been decked, honed, and hot tanked, head was cleaned, jwt s3 cams, no freddy im w/ q45 tb cause of leaks, simple wire tuck, new belts, act heavy duty clutch and resurfaced oem flywheel, garrett 2871R .86 with 3in intake and a free short shifter lol. I still have to order the nistune ecu but other than that the engine is done. The new (Rust Free) coupe chassis is currently getting prepared. 5 lug swap, z32 brakes, all adjustable susp arms, vlsd, and some other stuff has been donated from the original ashy larry :). ES bushings, sub frame spacers and 1 piece driveshaft are the main additions to the drivetrain and susp. hopefully I can get in on the cheap seat gb and get some blue cuga reps, but also clean up my sparco pro 2000, eventually wrap the dash in a matching bright blue suede. I got another set of spare 18s and some carbon pieces to get and it'll almost be done. Chassis pics should be posted in 2 weeks with the engine most likely in it :)

The engine is in and it'll get a base tune on tuesday. I won't be home until early oct but I'm trying to set everything up so it'll be done and ready for complete tuning when I get back. Right now it looks like the early ugly betty stage slammed on white kosei k1's except its also white

The torque and power curve should be really nice, now that I got the final pieces of the puzzle. At this rate the car should be hauling a** by next weekend and dyno tuned by halloween. There is a northeast pa dyno day (sloppy mechanics) in allentown, pa I'm trying to make just before that too.

there's only a couple more weeks until she starts terrorizing the streets! the engine harness is currently being stripped and tucked. the 1 pc drive shaft and the original exhaust will be re-installed. it starts up just fine with my JWT ecu. i can almost smell the 350+whp :)

Just wondering, how much longer was your bomex bumper and sideskirts then to the oem pignose?
Longer as in did it make your car seem lower then it actually is.

It's alright if you don't know but like a rough guestimate would be much helpful :)

BTW: nice build, can't wait to see what you do to your new coupe!!

maybe 2-3'' lower? not really too sure since it covers the sides of the car as well

the engine is pretty much all set. just gotta plumb for the power steering cooler, relocate battery, and install the coolant overflow. later on i still have to get an aeromotive fpr and gauge, add in the greddy oil filter relocation and oil cooler and a few misc things. the safc2 is being wired in along with other internal electronics and it's all done. i just cleared up all the paperwork for the car too so it's almost ready to come home. then i can start on the exterior and interior. it's gonna be a good xmas

The car is days away from running the streets and biting heads off. Just some electronics need to be wired in. Unfortunately I'm currently on the road and won't be there for the first soon around the block :/. But before I left I started investing on the exterior again lol. Just picked this up and hopefully done proper wheels this weekend

so it runs very smooth. no breaking up at any rpms, very responsive to the throttle and no wierd sounds. JWT flashed ecu was a good choice so far. the dash will be installed again once i wrap it in blue suede . the dif fan controller, wideband, and other minor electronics were loomed with the engine harness hence the mess again, easy fix. there's prolly less than 6 hours left before its streetable

a couple more shots

i made this a couple years ago when i first got the shell. it's very entertaining

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zo3rZdgVwsI

and thus a star is born. i pretty much slapped the front end together so i can drive it home and possibly get it inspected. no suprise that it didn't pass but it was worth a free shot. over the next few weeks i'm swapping over all the goodness and more from ashy larry to 7LBS. i know i can't rush but everything is pretty much there. from the little driving i did so far i noticed that the .86 hotside on the 2871r turbo does take a bit longer to spool up and doesn't really get going untill 3200 or so. thats a big change from the .63 dual ball bearing i have for sale. i do have a welded .64 hotside and an external wastegate on standby for summer prolly. in the meantime i present Ugly Betty ver.2

times have been pretty hectic so i haven't got much time put into the car. hopefully the weather will be better in the next few weeks lol. but the engine break-in continues! here i started spinning at half throttle (with a little fish tail) and tried to grab second @ about 4k rpm. i can't wait to get my 17's on, my downpipe scrapes under boost on slight dips

i haven't had much time to work on it but it's coming along. shortly after that last pic in the driveway, while heading to get inspected my hood flew up and bent the pass side hinge. i got another spare to swap on but until then it'll be raised on one side hehe. the engine is strong like bull. i haven't revved it out all the way yet but after swapping the 10's back in the rear it still spins thru 3rd. my profec B spec II is missing it's harness so i don't have a boost gauge either, it's just running off the internal wastegate. yesterday my bro and i decided to bring it back and redo our first official shoot from a couple years ago. time flies, enjoy
