I agree.. I'm the third owner and the first person did not have it dealer serviced the second owner has been sevicing the car with my buddy who has been a Infiniti mechanic since the begining in the late 80's .He's pretty much the go to guy around here for older modle Q's . Pics will be posted soonBadQ45t wrote:Very good find. Your gonna have to roll up your sleeves and start figuring out what has been serviced and replaced and what hasn't, since even with those low miles much of the car is 20 years old. Post up pics and get ready to start rehab.....
Yes I know... I'm picking her up tomorrow . If the timing chain covers have already been off is it safe to say that it's been done ??maxnix wrote:First thing to verify before you even start it is if the timing chain guides have been changed to the updated metal backed style.
Whats good is it's not going to be a daily driver. That being said I can do basic repairs myself and the major stuff I will leave to the Infiniti mechanic .elwesso wrote:Yeah, certainly the last thing to expect on something like this is a turn-key daily-driveable vehicle.. Many of the things that havent failed with mileage have failed with age, like suspension components, rubber hoses, etc...
That said, its worth its weight in gold if its got all original paint and interior, mechanical stuff is "easy" to deal with, especially if you can turn a wrench.
