Hey guys, I've got a 2006 M35 Sport with 151k miles on it. The front left strut is clunking now and needs to be replaced. Any suggestions on what to replace it with? KYB struts? I'm not looking to change the ride much, if at all. Maybe a bit more sporty, couldn't really care though. Also, are there any other parts I'll need to replace?

Thanks
-Korben

Welcome to the forum, Korben.

Yes, KYB is your best bet as it's an OEM replacement. This topic has been discussed quite a bit and many answers can be found via the search function.

KYB used to sell a version specially for the Sport model, but no longer. Monroe sells a Sport specific strut and rear shock that is reasonably priced. I installed a set last year. They keep the firm Sport ride and handling. I recommend getting the link stabilizers replaced at the same time.

link stabilizers = end links? Or something else?

Link stabilizers = end links = swar bar links, etc. All the same.

Thanks all. Anyone know where I can find an online manual on how to replace them? Also for the rear shocks? Thanks folks.

Korben, with all due respect, please do some reading/searching on your own. Many people have taken the time and effort to document many of these questions and they have been discussed and answered by others (including myself). In fact, there is multiple threads here on how to install coilovers (one that I wrote as well - see FAQ in my sig). This is the same process for struts/shocks with one addition - removing and replacing the spring with spring compressors that you can rent from your local parts store.
