starting the planning now. ive found the new wheels i want .. Advan SAR3s

now i need to decide if i want to stay at a 16, or go to 17 (this is after i stick on the z32 brakes ... it will mean the difference between redrilling rotors and using spacers, or doing the 5 lug swap.. i have rear 5 lugs already, not isntalled)

im thinking 17, but opinions?

specs ill be running with until i get the next engine built:

CA18DET honed, rotating assy polished and balanced, decked, all new consumables (gaskets, valve seals, etc) and hoseswith remote oil filters & cooler

Monsta (looks kinda like ssac, but it fits perfect) manifold, GTIR t28, APEi GT spec big FMIC + blitz BOV with braided stainless lines (oil line coming from the remote filter)

APEi PowerFC + Greddy profec

cusco 5kg flywheel aluminum driveshaft

4.363 diff gears on an s15 helical LSD

im planning on somewhere around 300 whp and running 1 bar...

so having the wheel 1 inch bigger, and running a sleightly thinner tire ..like a x/40 will save some weight while keeping that good acceleration? ... or are we talking about negligable differences and just get whatever size looks best?

I can't help with your wheel size, but I can tell you you're not going to get 300whp with a Gtir T28 and 1 bar of boost (no way).

I have SA3r's on my fastback. They're 17x7 + 35 front, 17x8 + 32 rear. I use 215/45-17 and 235/40-17 tires.

For the front I had to use 5mm spacers to clear my 30mm Z brakes.

i have 17x9 +20 all the way around with 235x40 front and 245x40 back which fits fine and theres plenty of big brake kit room.
