Yep, it's that time of year again! Last year was our first year for a garden. Had been wanting one for the past 20 years that we've been here and finally dug up the grass.Like so many others here in the south, we've got red clay. We've dumped in all kinds of stuff and mixed it up a bunch (with shovels). This past winter up until today, I've turned the garden with a shovel several times. Yes, I'm cheap, but like the exercise too!!! I wear a heart rate monitor when I work out on the heavy bag, so I do the same when gardening. Turning the garden with a shovel takes about 40 to 60 minutes depending on how much chopping I do. Heart rate stays between 154 and 165!! So, pretty good cardio work out for me!!

We planted today:3 rows of green beans3 hills yellow squash3 hills zuccini3 Big Boy tomatos3 Better Boy tomatos3 grappettes tomatos8 hills of strawberries

Seriously...BBQ at SVTs.

You've posted enough food that I think you should host.

If you have daughters, put them out in the garden. I hear they make good hoers.

I tell my wife she would make a good hoer all the time and she just rolls her eyes at me and tells me to go work in the yard

Speaking of cooking out!I highly recommend Lawry's marinades!Favorite for chicken s Tequila Lime!! Excellent!! Lemon Pepper and Herb & Garlic are both good too.

For Steaks I like Steak & Chop. Friday, I noticed a new one that I hadn't tried - Signature Steakhouse We marinated steaks that night in it and it was very YUMMY!!My NY strip was 1.35 pounds! I like a thick steak!!

I got so excited when I read this thread, and then when I read the first post, it was like waking up Christmas morning to no presents. The title is very misleading to say the least.

Please don't mention gardening, I've been in mine for the past 2 weekends, and we still haven't planted anything yet.

But it sounds like we're getting some strawberry jam from you this year, awesome!

That would be cool!!!! But, I don't think we will be finished putting the house back together by even the end of summer. We did get the new counter tops in, but we still have to re-do the cabinets, cut out a pass thru in the wall, redo the dining room, and bathrooms....getting tired just thinking about it. Wife watches way to many dam home improvement shows!!!Our place is prob. in the middle between yours and VWtech's!

LukeI TOLD Rudy about you and he says he would like to meet you.... What asian country are you from??? I was taught Korean TKD from a Vietnamese.I took Japanese Jujutsu from a guy who now teaches Russian Systema..I myself am a mix of just about everything!!! Possibly, with the exception of Asian.....However, I do practice Korean and Japanese MA.... Oh, and love Chinese Food and Taco Bell!!!

That does not sound healthy to me...

A 1.35lb steak would fit the bill. What's your favorite cut? I usually just get a big pack of top sirloin to last the week, I eat about 4 steaks every week, conservatively.

To marinade, I use some molases, kikoman's soy sauce, worchestershire sauce, vinigar, some stale beer, or just beer, sugar, salt, oil, a lil minced garlic and montreal steak spice.

I have a george forman grill I used all winter. Sometimes, I'll top off with a chipolte BBQ sauce, or some good ol' hot sauce.

Actually, I like a thick NY Strip that's been marinated for about 24 hours and grilled on high with the lid open. Red inside, but not to where it looks like jello when you cut it!
