very few places can turn drilled/slotted rotors and your pad will wear quicker. I went through a set of rear pads in 8,000 miles.

If you take your car to the track invest in the brakes. If you don't save your money.

I have been told that slotted rotors is the way to go and not drilled rotors. Someone will be with you soon on that matter.

I am not the hugest fan of them they do work but if you are looking for an economical way of going about it, try something like Brembo blanks. They cannot be resurfaced in most places since the absolutely detroy bits(learned from experience) I am ordering a set of round house brembos blanks and pads for wifies' Acura.

Do they wear evenly? I'd hate to jack up expensive rotors and not be able to resurface them.

IMO it really depends on what you get. I don't usually cut my rotors as I drag them out till they hit the sqeelers and though out everything.

That's just me though I'm am particular, especially with wifies car. She tore through factory replacement pads and rotors in <30K when they were machined last time, so they get a light upgrade now.

Hahahaha. I think I got 10k per set of front pads on my I30 (powerslot/hawk combo). Then again, I used to drive hard and around town a lot.

I have seen people get decent mileage out of slotted but IMO they actually take bits of the pads off when they are applied. Yeah 10K on new pads and rotors sucks, go with the blanks.

I just purchased Centric cross drilled slotted rotors

I can't really say much about them since I just bought them like 2 days ago...

But, I can say that I'm glad I went with this style of rotor. It gives the car a whole new look, appose to the plain rotors outhere.

IMHO.. If you don't go to the track then you will never use what they are made for! The drilled and slots are for cooling and if you never get the brakes to past 200 degrees then you don't need them!

Now if you are going for the look than that is another ballgame!

Or once at the track, if you are real serious you will melt the pads to the rotors your first time out.....

I thought you would never ask,

If you have never raced on a track I suggest a driving school so you don't bend up your car. Fast Lane Racing School teaches at Willow Springs. Maybe hook up with them you should be set to race after that.

Let me know where you're buying your brakes from. Maybe we can get them from the same place and save on shipping.

I want to do mine soon too.
