I decided that after about a year of being a member of this forum..., it's time for me to make a contribution!
To start, let me introduce myself (a little late.. I know!) My name is Kyle, I have a 1991 240sx with abs/hicas/lsd every option except leather interior. When I bought it it looked like crap.... One side was almost perfect while the other side had dents. But let me take one step backward and say that when I bought it, it came with a blown engine. So my first step was to get that running! So I pulled the engine and found a seized rod bearing which fried the crank.... Thanks to one of the many helpful members here on NICO I was able to find a new crank! After finishing the rebuild I dropped the engine in started it up and took her for a spin! It was awesome of course, taking a car that hadn't ran for atleast 5 years and driving it! The things was I had the crappiest tires so I wasn't sure what could happen. To my good fortune everything was right! I started the rebuild in the middle of november and finished all the engine and drivetrain work the day after thanksgiving.
Now almost a year later I have been prepping for the long awaited paint job! As the car sits it's about a day or two away from the color and clearcoat being sprayed on! The color is Chevrolet's Victory Red.
Now for some pictures!!!!!!!!!!
Couple days after it was delivered.
The engine all disassembled...
The rod I had to cut out with a cut off wheel because it was so stuck on the crank....
And now for some body work....
The hatch was pretty screwed up from to many different spoilers so I welded all the holes shut and began the body work.
Factory body filler? Cracked here so ground it all out and refilled it...
First coats of primer.
Had two days to get it prepped and primerd then I had to get it back together.
Hatch turned out awesome...
And now about two months later I have picked up where I left off..
As it sat two days ago..
After 3 coats of primer..
As of today and last night I block sanded with 400 and today I will finish with 800 and then tomorrow morning spray the color!!!
