yep i thinks its time for the timing belt its about 25000 over its advise changing and really don't want to push it much more i was wondering if any one had some advise from pass experience things to look for and so on.....

i all ready changed the transmission cooler so the whole front end is off the car figured why not also where would you recommend buying the timing belt any other car i would just go to auto zone but from what i read up on that might not be the best idea thanks

Find an infiniti dealer or order it from joe ,If the cashflow is good you might as well replace all the other stuff thats due .Waterpump , Tension rollers etc.How many miles do you have on the 94 ?

I might add ..When I got my J it was at 124 K and was freaking thinking about the timing belt .Then one day I looked at the plate just under the leading edge of the Hood it was imprinted with "Timing Belt Replaced a 62K"

94's use a kevlar belt thats good for 105 K i believe .

Does that also apply to 93's that the timing belt was changed since 94? Or are 93's not able to use the Kevlar belt? I know mine was changed at 60k miles, probably around 2002.

If memory serves they started using the Kevlar belt in 94 ..If they changed it in 2002 I would like to think they used a kevlar belt .Should be the same belt configuration .Any Infinti Techs to verify ??

Well, we got our 93 in Sep of 05 I believe and it had about 170k miles on it and I don't think the belt had ever been changed if that gives you an idea of how long it will last.

Don't worry, I've had it changed since then. I found an independent infiniti/lexus shop that did the whole job for just under $400.

well I got 138k miles, so I guess I will wait a bit longer. I will look at the model this weekend of the belt and see if I can verify it is the newer kevlar belt.

Thanks,-Rob
