I am at 160 000 kms on my 07 versa. Time for new plugs. I looked for information on this forum and I could not find any.

Are they easy to change? Has anyone had them changed at the dealer? How much did it cost? Is it worth it for me to change them?

Thank you!

Hey, I tried to go the site, but when you click on the download option, it did not work. I got a quote for the spark plug change and it was 250! Ouch! lol

To change the spark plugs, you have to remove the intake. That is one of the reasons why the cost is higher than what you might normally see.

I googled this, sounds scary. Yet it does not make sense.

HEAR THIS; TO CHANGE SPARK PLUGS, THIS IS THE PROCEDURE.1) DRAIN COOLANT. YES DRAIN THE COOLANT.2) TAKE OFF THE ENGINE COVER.3) TAKE OFF THE INTAKE MANIFOLD. YES THATS CORRECT4) TAKE OFF THE COIL.5) CHANGE PLUGS AND REASSEMBLE. WHEW BY THE WAY PLUGS ARE GOOD FOR 105,000 MILES.

If your not mechanically inclined you should go to the dealer to have the spark plug replaced.

I for one will bring my car to the dealer just due to the fact I don't want to mess with the life time warranty my engine has.

Thanks..

Thank you,

I have now 165000 kms on the car...... getting time to change them.

Also, you say to remove the intake manifold, do the bolts need to be torqued down or just snug? Is there a gasget that needs to be changed?

And it's time to change my fluids, so I can get it all done at once..lol

torqued and gasket may need replacing if it is made out of paper and not metal.

Hi All,

I'm new to the forum.

I've just replaced my Spark Plugs and the manifold uses sort rubber ring so don't need to replace anything else just do as the diagram below and replace your spark plugs.

BTW before you change your new spark plugs make sure that the Gap's distance is correct.

The NGK ones are the stock plugs so I got the same. They normally last about 80,000KM after that, the gap distance changes due to wear. With the new plugs, car runs better an better response on the acceleration too.

Off to the dealer I go............

I looked into it a bit more and said screw it.

But the dealer said the plugs are like 30 bucks each.... Yeah 30 bucks..

All together it will cost me around 250 to have 4 plugs changed........

RETARDED!!

looked around and can't get them yet..

so...... I am looking at it more like this...

This is the first out of pocket expense for me and it's at 165 kms...

And I am getting my CVT transmission checked for 30 bucks..........

but I am getting a sweet deal on an OIL change: 12.50 (the price of an oil change when they opened up 40 years ago..lol)

Yeah I guess you cannot complain, that car is making you money right? Sometimes you have to give back a little to take a lot back

It's a rip off!!! Have you tried another Nissan dealership around if there is one? I bought mine(NGK LZKAR6AP-11) from Nissan Dealer ship for AU$24 each and I did it myself. Didn't even have to drain coolant.
