Hi Guys,
I am due for new shocks - especially rear. I don't soak up bumps in the rear suspension and it's even more noticeable after installing a bolt on tow package.

I am thinking of picking up this kit
http://www.amazon.com/KYB-FRONT-REAR-sh ... qx4+shocks

Any advice or reaffirmation on this KYB kit would be much appreciated. Should I consider a better option/ different brand (I have never minded throwing extra $ to get better suspension). Also are there other parts I will need to purchase as well for alignment purposes etc to complete the install?

I will be having these parts installed at a shop.

Thanks.

Looks fine to me. I have the same set up on my Pathfinder (KYB Excel-G [aka GR-2] struts, Gas-A-Just shocks) with no issues. You'll want to replace the strut mounts and bearings as well; I used Raybestos, but OEM wouldn't be that much more if bought online from Factory Nissan Parts.

I'm also about to change my shocks and struts to KYB's. Should I have the rear bushings, and the front control arms replaced while I'm at it? I'll have the strut mounts and bearings done as well, I just want to knock out as much of this is as I need at once.
Thanks!

Thanks! Glad to be here. Do you find your KYB setup to be superioir to stock setup in terms of comfort/performance - body control etc or is it just about the same. :gotme

I also put new KYB Gr2's on my r50 and they ride awesome.

Switching the upper and lower trailing arms to 4x4parts.com polyurethane inserts makes the BIGGEST improvement though

Duly noted! That's the kind of key stuff I would have missed.
Thanks!

Hi, does anyone have any experience with the Import direct strut mounts available from Kragen/O'Reily auto parts?
http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detai ... rd=mc02001

I ordered Raybestos to go with my KYB struts but they won't be available for several weeks. The Import Directs at $78 are about $20 more than the Raybestos and come with a Ltd lifetime warranty. Just curious if they are worth the extra $.

Thanks
