My friend (nacho_nissan on the boards, dont post much) is selling his MS13. Its actually his uncles, but he can no longer keep it. Being the way prices are for 240sx's right now, I think, if money and father permits, I will get this one.

The Speedometer doesnt work. transmission (auto:( ) is one year old. Pretty big dent on the right rear qaurter panel, paint is champagne, alright condition. KA24DE is running okay. Tint is messed up. Alignments a little off. Trim model is SE. 140XXX miles. So, since I have driven it, and know how its running, and plus if need be, I can dig into my inheritance, which I have plenty of (college fund mainly, for you nosy people my uncle died, left me with a hefty amount). Well all of this for about 1k. Running MS13 for 1k. Im pretty sure if I have 950 or what ever on the spot, he'll take it. I like it being so cheap since that gives me more room for mods, so lets say with about 5-6k in mods before high school is out, Im a sophomore right now, and have a pretty nice car (5spd, SR, tein HA's) Right now I jsut roll in my van and on the weekends my uncles RHS13 which he promised to me but there are too many problems, I will probably buy that later on.I actually just got off the phone with my dad and he said this Friday we'll go down and look at (like we have to go far, he only lives a mile and ahlf down the road) since he is out of town right now. So what do you guys think for a project, or a beater? Oh yeah. Come summertime, I have a job promised to me at my brothers job making $7 an hour.

Sounds like you're set. I'm kinda jealous... actually, since my exhaust purchase is being held up by the need to know if I have a job this summer... GAR!

Well before it can be a project your gonna have to spend a bit on getting the car up to par. Your probably not gonna be able to do any real mods since your going to be spending a lot of time fixing whatever breaks. You may want to get a better condition one and not have to worry about things falling apart as much. A lot of the mods you want to get for your car should be held off anyways though. Its better to learn on a bone stock 240 so youll really feel and appreciate the difference.

Im still getting familiar with my 240. I havnt really touched it yet except for fixing simple maintenance repairs. Probably in 1-2 years ill put some craziness into my car. Hopefully by then there will be a way to get turbo legit in cali.

doesn't sound bad, 1k for a well running car isn't bad at all. The main concerns you should have is body and interior shape and all that good stuff like leaking oils, creaking suspension or any of that stuff.

oh yeah, passing emissions is a good thing.

quarter panel is the worst panel to fix. Auto trans are a ***** to convert. Sure you want that one? I paid 1000 for my first 240 a few years ago and it needed so much work... I could have swapped it with all the money I put into replacing parts and fixing it. Anyway it got smacked so I have a coupe now, and I took my time and shopped around and I have one that was well taken care of, and it was definetly worth the extra wait, and a little extra cash (only 1500 in pretty much perfect shape).

What I was thinking, is maybe trade tha car a little bit later for my uncles RHS13. The interiopr is in alright shape. He was supposed to be selling it for about 1800, but I mentioned all of those problems so I got it to a grand. If anything, i'll just make it look good and nothing more.

Hmmm. Hard to tell if it's a beater or project without seeing it. But by what you describe, your friends uncle's car sounds more like a beater. The automatic would be a deal breaker to me.
