Well, I went to the "Tri-State Raceway" today to do some drag racing. My dumbass friend convinces me to go here instead of Cedar Falls cuz he's an idiot. It costs $30 here, and half as much as the usual place in Cedar Falls...and this place sucks. Rednecks EVERYWHERE. I heard more references to The Fast and The Furious about my car than I have ever heard. So needless to say, I won't be going back there. So I only ran 4 times, and my first time ended up being my best. My car is completely stock when it comes to the engine. The only thing that helps that is aftermarket is the clutch. I also have ****ing snow tires on my car that came with it =) So here is the best run of the day:

60'......2.364330.....3.4831/[email protected] mph1000...13.0081/[email protected] mph

Not too bad for ****ty tires and a stock engine with 3rd gear syncros being retarded. So yea, what do you think?

Not bad at all with a stock engine. I haven't go to a raceway to see how I do but I will as soon as I fix my clutch.Talking about clutches.I'm about to change my clutch and since you have a clutch masters stage 1, let me ask you,do the clutch feels better than the stock one? Can you feel the difference off the line when racing? I'm about to put a clutch masters or an ACT clutch set and I was just wondering.

Difference from stock...hell yes. It grabs SO much better than the stock one. I get 3rd gear chirps at the track for one thing (not sure if 4th gear will, I never hit 4th). But yea, it's definetely a worth-while upgrade. Only takes a few hours to do a clutch if you know what you are doing.

Thanks for the info. I'm gonna do the swap as soon as I buy the clutch set.Hopefully my car will be up and running in 2 weeks.

did your car come stock with an lsd? I thought base model 95's didnt come with one, that is a good time for a stock engine, how many miles does your car have?

No, the LSD is not stock, but I don't consider that aftermarket, seeings how it came off another Nissan. The other thing I forgot to mention was that my car has 120,000 miles on it =) Still running strong I guess!

Im guessing the LSD came off a 300z? How hard was the swap to do, The 300z needs new output flanges/shafts whatever, are they taken off the 240? Could u explain a little, thanks man :)

It came off an Infiniti (Nissan) J30. Same output flanges and everything. No modification needed.

My best:

60'......2.5431/[email protected]/[email protected] mph

but remember this is at 2,850ft. It would be 16.22 at Sea Level. Yours is much faster.. I wonder what my problem is.. Any ideas? I don't think it's my racing.

Judging by the 60', you aren't getting out of the hole that well. Just try to adjust your launch speeds and see what yields best times. Also, try adjusting tire pressure. Lower pressure ususally helps get more traction off the start. Your trap speed doesn't seem that great either. Granted your car is maybe 30 lbs heavier, it wouldn't make that much of a difference. Don't know what to tell you though.

is your car auto or stick? It seems that your car is lacking in topend. Have you tried to change your fuel filter? Upgrade to a 300z, Also like pablo said your 60ft is kinda high, Mine is usually a 2.3-2.5 and I ran a 10.5, but Im estimating a mid 15 1/4. Try a tuneup if u havent recently.

It's a stick. I'm grinding 3rd gear so that might have something to do with it. I changed the spark plugs and got a new fuel filter so far. The wires are stock, cap probably is too. I guess i'll change those next. Anything else? Which wires should I go with? And where can I get a cap for it?

What gear do you guys finish in? When I cross i'm tached pretty high in 3rd. Should I maybe try shifting lower to stay in the torque range?

Trying out the Fred Quick Reply box. Im not sure, its just that 16.7 seems kinda slow for the 240, try speed shifiting. Also get a compression check, b/c if you are losing compression that will lower your times. And the 3rd gear grinding would have something to do with it :) But u are lucky my 2nd and 3rd both grind horribly!!

It's at 2900ft. So the time you should actually look at is 16.22 becase that's what it would be at Sea level (which is what most of you are probably running at). So how does 16.22 compare?

I am revving just into the red in 3rd gear, but it's faster that way then shifting I think. I say, just practice launching =)

I went to the track for the first time ever a few weeks ago, and I only got to run once cause I didn't pay but here is my best and only time: Its only a 1/8th mile track

R/T..............1.23260'..............2.386330.............6.8071/8..............10.394MPH.............68.63

I think I could do better, I was shifting at 7000rpms, I definately should have shifted around 5,800rpms I think. I guess we'll see next time.

what am I doing wrong? We have like the same MPH, I think one time I did a 69 MPH, but I cannot break a 10.5 for anything, I have seen cars running 10.3s with only 67 MPH and Im like WTF.

My 1/8 mi would be [email protected] so I'm not doing too bad. I think i'll change my wires and my cap and see how it does. btw. I live in Lancaster, Ca, which is like an LA suburb. The track is LACR (Los Angeles County Raceway) which is in Palmdale Ca about 20 minutes from me. Remember in Fast and the furious he says "This car ran 9.0 in palmdale" he's talking about how crappy of a track LACR is usually consitered, so 9.0 in palmdale would be somewhere in the 8s at another track :) It's usually kinda windy, plus the 2900ft.

My tires aren't that good. Plus, I think I launch too high. I launch at about 3-4. But I noticed launching higher gives better times but worse 60ft.

14.97@96mph and 15.08@93mph

91' 240sx w/ apex'i n1 turbo muffler (custom piping) and custom cold air intake. I ran on grippy Falken rubbers wrapped around 17x17.5 HP Racing typhoons. Only preppng to the car i did was take out my seat and spare tire, jack etc.. Much better times than i expected.

I raced against my friends 95' eclipse GS-T (stock), he pulled 15.4's on both runs

I figured, I wouldn't even be interested in a car that slow.
