Hey guys!

First post, long time fan of Infinity cars.

So I have a J30 '93 with ~250k miles on it and have come across transmission problems.

Well with any car with that much wear and tear there are several things that need repaired/replaced. So I picked up another J30 '93 and have plans to pick and pull from the two cars to rebuild the one I have and love.

Question 1: Whats the estimated time to pull and replace a transmission?
(Pulling trans from cars A and B, moving trans B to car A)

Question 2: Does anyone have any suggestions for rebuild kits?

Thanks for your time!

Do you have access to a lift? I can look it up in alldatas time guide but that assumes a practiced professional with all the tools.

In a terrible rush 3 guys broke apart a spare complete engine/trans already sitting on the ground, yanked the bad unit from the car(using a lift) and were back running in 2 to 2.5 hours. I expect one person on the ground to take 3 to 4 hours to remove each unit and another 4 hr to put it back so 10-12 hrs.

Alldata has 5.2 hours for transaxle replacement with the transfer of components. That means your total time should be somewhere around 7.5 hours.

This is assuming you have the right tools, know where they are, and have a little background in mechanics.

Thank you both so much for the quick responses!

Exactly what I needed to know.
