Been driving on my winters [still cold enough] because when I went to switch over found a gouge in one of the A/S . . . it's OK because I needed to replace them soon anyway.

Time to spend the cash.

Tiger Paws are cheapest [and lowest on my list -- still can't figure out why the garage recommended them to me -- trying to get my business with the lowest bid?].

Toyo Extensa

Michelin Harmony

Goodyear ComforTred [just read: road rating high]

And how important is the H rating, anyway?

I say Bridgestone Turanzas for a touring tire, and a Bridgestone Potenza for a performance tire.

I'm loving my Cooper CS4 Tourings so far. A little over 15,000 miles on them and they still look fairly new. I got the H rated. Cooper's own site states the H rated version has better wet traction than the T rated. Probably a softer tread (why the H rated has 60k warranty opposed to 80k on the T). You also get better handling. A T rated tire will be a little mushier than a H rated. I'll take better wet traction and handling over longer tire life. The risk of a wreck is not worth it. So far, they still ride quiet and smooth with better traction in wet and dry conditions over the Continentals so for the price, it's hard to complain. I got mine from treadepot.com for about $300 shipped. The $50 rebate they have right now is another good reason to try them.

I got a set of General Exclaim UHP's ZR rated 205/45/17. To say I am shocked at the price/performance is an under statement, I have always been the guy that spend $180/tire, Iv run BFG KDW's, RE01's on my other cars in the past and these tires are fantastic. We even had a freak snow storm today and just to feed my curiosity I went out for a spin, I could not break traction. In the dry they handle great, they are quiet (only 1200miles) and I got a set of 4 with shipping for $412.
