So I need new tires again and i'm debating on changing. Right now i'm running on yokohama avs es100's. Love em, they were not too expensive, have lasted 32,000 miles and were great in the dry and rain. a little noisy, but whatever, thats why we have radios. Was thinking of changing over to kumho ecsta MX's though. Heard good things about them, but also read on tirerack's site that their sidewall flex can be bad. Anyone with MX's I'd love to hear your comments. thanks!

My friend with his E30 swears by them, a good tire for the money. After I kill my current set, thats the next option really. I didn't like the 712s too much, but I felt a huge difference when he got the MXs.

....I will also add that anything is better than the Falken Ziex 512s I got for winter now, lol.

I'm a little leary of Kumho after my mother-in-law's ASX's blew a sidewall randomly on her Scion when they were only 2wks old.

Well it depends what type of tire you are looking for. Do you want another tire that will last about 32,000 miles? Do you want something that will last longer? Here is what i got and all i can say is they are great!

Sky, I had a set of kumho ASX, and they SUCKED. performance all season my ***. they sucked in the dry, sucked in the rain, and snow? FORGET ABOUT IT.i've had good experience with ecsta 712's so I figured the MX's might be a good small step up from the AVS ES100's i have now.87nissanKC, I'd like more mileage out of a tire, but honestly for a performance tire I think 32,000 miles is awesome. i don't think any of my kumho's lasted over 25,000my buddy just got some g-force t/a's and loves them too, i'll check em out. thanks!

if you get 15k out of the MX's youd be lucky

i personally like hankook rs2's better, same price as the MX's but performs like a falken rt615, arguably better

if you want tires that are going to last though, you wont find something with the grip the 3 i mentioned would have, simply cant happen

Are the RS-2's the new tires that just came out Nismo? I think my Miata friend has a them for his summer set, he says they're awesome but the treadwear is 180?

i dont think theyre that new, they came out like 9 months ago maybe

and their treadwear is 200, same for the falkens, the MX's are 220

thats the kind of treadwear you need to get tires that grippy
