When I first bought my Maxima, it had aftermarket pads on it, and it sqeaked like crazy every time I stopped. I switched back to OEM pads after that, and haven't had a problem since.

I'm sure someone will post some good aftermarket suggestions for you.

I have the Brembo X-drilled rotors & Hawk Perfomance pads from Stillen. Decent price and great materials...been very happy with them! Before this setup, the only difference I had was I used to run Metal Matrix pads but they squeaked ALOT!! Other than that, all I had was stock but I would definately recommend the Stillen products!!

DOn't get drilled rotors... they crack under stress. Slotted is the best way to go.. the TRACK GTR uses only slots..

but Powerstop rotors and EBC pads worked great for me.. or Hawk ferrocarbon pads as well

Unless you know this for a fact, it would be better not to give "undue" information. I have been running cross-drilled rotors for over 3 yrs and have NEVER had the slightest issue with them...EVEN under extreme stress. So...the moral is...don't believe everything you read on websites.

ITS FACT!!! i destroyed my altima brakes.. it was a street/track car and you can see cracks form in and around the drilled holes after 5k miles of hard street driving. 300-500 miles on the track..

Big brakes Kits like brembo and such.. have thicker rotors and have a larger surface area, they dissipate heat better so unless you go extremely high speeds they don't crack

i'll see if i can find an old set around somewhere and take some pics.. i can't guarantee that i will find any but if i do i can show u

Until then this was off google images.. its exactly what happened to me

And just out of curiosity...where/from who did you get your rotors? I dont have a "big brake" upgrade...only the OEM size, but they are Brembo X-drilled. NEVER had any problems under ANY circumstances, nor ANY signs of the slightest crack. The reason I'm asking where you got your set from is that alot of times you get what you pay for. Not saying you did, but if they were from ebay or someplace like that, then I wouldnt be so quick to stand up and be blaming the rotors.

ouch im hurt brakes are wayyyy to important to skimp out on... they are like ur survival tool when u drive fast.i used ebc's for a long time then switch to powerstop.. a lot of it depends on the thickness and metallurgy of the metals being used.mine weren't meant to last long.. just stop the car effin fast

brembo for street cars does do a good job of making tougher rotors they just don't stop as well in my opinion

if it were me.. i would use slotted but if u go with brembo then its really up to you for the look you want to have on your car

LOL...my bad dude, just trying to make a point.

And yes...Daddygonz, in the end, it's YOUR car so get what makes YOU happy. I believe Brembo also makes slotted as well as slotted & drilled OEM size rotors, but you may need to double check that for sure.
