Is it really worth the $$$ to have the Infiniti shop install new brakes in my '00 I30? They want $250 a pair, I got a quote for half the amount from a local brake shop. Is there anything special that the Infiniti tech's do to justify the extra $$$?

I would ask both for an exact list of services performed. Might do a search and read the previous posts on brakes so you will know the questions to ask and how to evaluate the services offered.

And get your parts from Joe at http://www.infinitipartsusa.com

Get the pads and shims from Joe, and take it to a local shop with a $99/axle deal.

It's just a Nissan when it comes to the brakes.

Don't forget to bring your own high temperature grease as these shops save money by using cheap product.

The real differences are the pay scales of the person doing the work $25 vs $12 vs $7 per hour and the professional pride of the workforce.

A $79 set of pads cost the dealer $40 and a $19 set of pads cost the BREAKYO place $8.
