time for high mileage oil for 2001 QX4 with 74k miles?

just wondering if i should go for high mileage oil since i want to keep this car for quite a long time. so should i or should i not ?

Personally, I would just run a full synthetic after an engine flush if your using a regular oil. The jury is still out on so called higher mileage oils. Some say they are basically synthetic/regular oil blends with more detergent.

thanks. i got this QX4 a few months ago and gone ~1k miles with it. as soon as i have time ill go for a full tune up and a good oil change. so will the parents MPV which has once havent had an oil change for 5Kmiles.

If your going to run a full synthetic, I would suggest Mobil 1.
