Ok guys, finally made the decision to turn my parts car i got for $150 into a daily driver. Outside of a blown ka its in good condition cept for the hatch, even has new carpet and a new headliner in it. I'm wanting to go V6 with it instead of a v8, but I'm stuck with some issues. I can get access to a VG30E thats in a nissan truck, but I can't find any 300z's around here to get the VG30DE out of one. My main thing is I would like to see around 250 or so horsepower at the wheels. Money is driving this project, but time I have plenty of and can compensate money wise with time put in. My main things are engine and rear end. I can't find anything solid and most good information is scattered throughout many posts, but here's my questions.
1) IF i swap the VG30E, what cross member can I use or mounts without having to do alot of metal work if its possible?
2) Concerning the rear-end, just for simplicity, If I do not exceed 300hp are the stock axles able to handle a VG motor or would it be wiser to step up to better axles, especially the rear differential?
3) IF there's anything I'm missing, besides my brain, let me know as I have access to most things mopar (mopar family) and can get access to some ford stuff also, since my other 240 is going up next year to have a 4 link solid axle rear end installed and a Chrysler 360 small block dropped in.
Mainly was trying to stay away from a v8 as I would like to have some decent fuel economy as I'm planning on driving the crap outta the car once it's built. My daily driver atm is on borrowed time till it needs a engine rebuild.
