Starting from scratch with brakes with above assemblies I scored a serious deal on (includes brand new clips too). pairing with some kevlar pads & stainless lines. Where are we getting those drilled/slotted stillen brembo rotors from? Stillen has them for about 460 for the whole 4. Anyone know of anywhere else they may be on sale for or am I going to have to take a 460$ whack on just the rotors. May hold off until spring when I am thinking of chopping this Q up for another

Are those sand blasted or are they powdercoated or painted? Just as a side note your probably better off with just slotted rotors. Theres a reason no race team uses them anymore because they are not necessary and they are prone to cracking. They were there for asbestos pads which off gassed, but we dont use asbestos anymore. You might be better of with just slotted rotors, like powerslot. Of course the drilled look nice but it can come at a price sometimes, but it sounds like you want drilled and slotted. I think some people used to get those stillen rotors from Joe in the past, but I'm not 100% sure.

Rock auto still has AXXIS metal master pads for cheap, I think $24 for the front and or rear, I'll have to check how much I paid. So far I have loved these pads, I'm on my second set with slotted rotors.

wouldn't you be better off just doing the Z32 brake swap?

As far as I am aware the only benefit from a Z32 brake swap is the cost. No significant or any performance gain. I could be wrong. With the $$ I saved on my units the cost is irrelevant as this will be my last full brake setup other than turning rotors or replacing pads. I am approaching 270k

Yea there really is no benefit other than the rear swap because you go from a solid rotor to a vented one. You could also go for J30 rear brakes, the rotors are the same as the Z32, but the caliper is a single pot sliding like the Q.

I see, I think I'm going to getting the same rotors from stillen. I heard Brembo calipers from a G35 are bolt on, you guys hear anything on that?

You have to figure in the effort and investment you put into this outdated vehicle. Is it that much of a significant benefit for any of this? Why am I going with $400+ rotors when I can get some for 25$ a piece? I wouldn't be getting the better rotors if i hadn't scored the units and stainless lines at next to nothing. As I sit with pads, units, and lines im not even into it @ 200$ I would never spend 1k on brakes for a car thats 20+ years old especially at 270k miles regardless of how rare it is or how much i like it. I hate putting any sort of "better than OEM" product in this car @ 270k and cringe every time. Unless you have a junkyard with aG35 Z32 or ANY of these cars readily available for minimal pricing most of it is pointless. Save up 2 or 3 of them, piece em together into one. These cars pop up for sale @ 500-1200$ all the time.

Yea, too be honest the brakes on this car are quite good stock, no need to spend anymore than you have too. Also I wish cars would come up for sale here in the bay area for $500-1200! These cars are way overpriced here, average to crappy condition is around $1500-2000.

So my wife freaked when i almost bought the $500 stillen rotors so I did a little shopping around and found all 4 drilled and slotted rotors for $190 (from irotors) on ebay they look pretty decent. Maybe you'd be interested in getting these instead of the Stillens. I think im getting them.
