Well, I should had been smart and took care of the problem when I first saw it. About 6 months ago I got a Ca from J-hot (excellent service) that had a blown turbo. After reciving it I immediatly took off the oil pan and checked the oil pump pick up and noticed that it was clogged all to hell. I figured I'd just clean the pickup and the oil-pan out and everything would be good(dumb), well it was, for a while that is. Turns out yesterday after installing my boost gauge I took it up the street about a mile (driving normal) and bam!! I thought my engine seized up, but I let it chill for about 15 minutes and tried to start it again, and luckily it did. Well it turns out that I think my bearings went bad because the previous owner in Japan seemed to have never changed his oil and caused the bearings to weaken, and I unfortunalty got the end of it.When the engine runs it makes a noticiable metal slapping sound, so if its not the bearings its something.Anyway, what I trying to get at is that I should had been smart and rebuilt it from the get-go. I guess you live and you learn, but lucky for me its only a project car and my daily driver is fine. Starting next month Im going to tear down the engine and send it to my friends machine shop and have it worked on. Also Im going to be keeping my eye out for that gasket rebuild kit thats been on ebay. Keep you guys posted on my progress, leave me some advice or comments. Thanks.

Thanks bro. I'll be talking with the machine shop tomorrow to get an estimate on the work, and then after that I'll start resourcing parts ie:new headgasket, timing belt, oil pump, bearings, cp forged piston set, arp head studs etc. If Im going to rebuild it I minus well do it right as not to have it fail on me again. Look forward to some questions in the coming future, as Im sure I'll run into some stuff that I'll need help with. Thanks guys.

Its going to be a long journey but its not impossible. Stick to it and keep it realistic! Check out my build as its taken me almost a year to finish it since i got it. Im almost there and once it starts up and runs, it'll have been worth it. Its good that youre planning on doing it right the first time and thats how it should be. Make sure you double check everything and dont half *** the important stuff! Another rebuilt CA FTW!
